START UP Shield

Start-Up Shield is a package for new small businesses including innovative freelancers and digital businesses started by sole traders or entrepreneurs.

It includes a core set of insurance policies packaged specifically for Start-Up businesses– who are vulnerable in the early years of their growth and need to manage risk (but don’t need the same broad coverage that established businesses do).

Start-Ups often ignore buying insurance in early stages due to cost pressures – only buying insurance when it is totally necessary – like showing proof of insurance for leased premises or the purposes of securing funding/grants.

This approach to insurance is short sighted and also means that the business owner is left exposed to risk, particularly in relation to business continuity. It can also mean that  and but also fall prey to tactics of large competitors (David & Goliath conflicts)

What is Start Up Shield?

Start-Up Shield is a package for new and small businesses in early stages of growth and development.

The operations, structure and associated risks of a typical Start Up are different to established SMEs.

Broad requirements for limits and excess offered on policies are often well beyond what they need, and more specific/lower coverage insurance policies that are within budget can be a nightmare for them to manage.

So we’ve negotiated core policies and coverage that will best fit the Start Up Market – and we work with entrepreneurs to tailor the suite of insurances to match the particular business, it’s activities and its risk – which often enables lower limits and excess values (and lower costs overall).
